Cosmetics

Insight Integrative Dentistry’s cosmetic services include veneers, bonding, crowns, and teeth whitening.

Veneers

Veneers are extremely thin shells of porcelain placed over the teeth. They are usually only applied to the part of the tooth that is visible when talking or smiling and are often used to correct discolored, chipped, misaligned, or irregularly shaped teeth or to cover small gaps between teeth.

Our veneers are fabricated at a dental laboratory by a master ceramist. At your first appointment, we make impressions of your teeth. Two to three weeks later, we ask you to come in for a second appointment to bond the veneers to your teeth. When done correctly—in balance with the chewing system health—porcelain veneers can be the optimal choice for strength, color stability, and longevity.

Bonding

Bonding involves adhering composite resin material to a tooth. We match the color of the composite to the tooth, making it virtually impossible to detect. We harden the material with a special light. Dental bonding is performed to repair damage caused by decay, alter the alignment of the tooth, close gaps between the teeth, or other cosmetic purposes. Bonding is the simplest and most affordable method available to fix small cosmetic imperfections in the teeth, such a discoloration and small chips or gaps.

Crowns

Crowns are used to restore and enhance teeth that have experienced significant damage through decay or fracturing. A crown (also known as a cap) is used to entirely cover a damaged tooth. A crown not only strengthens a tooth, but it can dramatically improve a tooth’s appearance, shape, and alignment.

Crowns may be used to:

  • Replace a large filling when there is little tooth structure remaining.
  • Protect a weak tooth from fracturing.
  • Restore a fractured tooth.
  • Attach a bridge.
  • Cover a dental implant.
  • Cover a discolored or poorly shaped tooth.
  • Cover a tooth that has had root canal treatment.

Teeth Whitening

If your teeth are sensitive, our custom-made trays will protect your gums from irritation during in-office whitening (which is more effective and causes less tooth sensitivity than home-whitening systems). Learn about our laser whitening services.
